We’ve got so many amazing women across Norfolk doing incredible things so we’re celebrating them across the month of March. We also have our own inspirational women who work within Norfolk Chambers of Commerce, and we're shining the light on them too. Amanda Vincent is our Climate Co.nnector.
What one piece of career advice would you give to the 20year-old you?
Rather than focussing just on what career you’d like, look at how you’d like to work and the ways in which you work best eg in a team or alone, travelling or fixed in one place, meeting lots of folks or working electronically.
Who is your female role model?
I have two – Priya Parker the author of The Art of Gathering. Her method of bringing the art of connection into gatherings, meetings etc is groundbreaking. The second is Brenee Brown, researcher, speaker (check out her TED talks) and author of The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly.
What was your career goal when you were young?
I really wanted to own and run a sweet shop with my best friend Gail.
What’s your biggest career achievement to date?
Taking my life/work balance seriously by stepping away from roles that compromised this.
What have your biggest challenges been as a woman in business?
Working with the low expectations that some people have of women.
