Dear Santa,
This year for Christmas we would like a really big Bubble Tube. We have all been really good and tried our hardest at school. We have been pushing ourselves with our physiotherapy programmes, learning to use switches to communicate, practising our independence skills and generally been really superb according to our Headteacher.
It’s been a tough year – some of our friends have passed away this year and we have found Covid really hard. For most of us, Covid means that our lives have got really ‘small’. We haven’t been to respite much, we haven’t seen our friends properly and we haven’t been ‘out and about’ like we used to.
At school, our teachers and support staff have been really fabulous – they have made things as fun as possible, they have kept on smiling when things have been hard or sad and they have all done their best to keep us safe.
We really think we deserve to have a nice new bubble tube. The one in our library has broken (the pump sucked the water instead of blowing it and it caused a bit of a kerfuffle!).
We think that if all your helpers at the Norfolk Chambers of Commerce who may read this letter just gave us a little bit of money, for example, instead of buying an expensive coffee they could give us the money instead, we would soon have enough to replace our broken tube. We think we are worth the cost of one of those posh coffees – I am sure everyone will agree with us.
We have a just giving page – we think that a small donation and some lovely words letting us know who is supporting us is probably the best Christmas present we could ask for.
Thank you for reading our letter Santa. We promise to try extra hard during the next few weeks of school. We are proud of ourselves and we know you are proud of us too. Have a Happy Christmas and a really healthy and happy New Year.
With lots of love,
The pupils at The Clare School xx
