Walking With The Wounded has embraced the ‘new normal’ by moving to online therapy, making welfare calls to the socially isolated, and developing new volunteer projects. We now offer modified modes of delivery and have continued to deliver our services flexibly to ensure that those most in need can access our services, like our beneficiary below who accessed our Care Coordination programme earlier this year: “It was around two months ago that I was living in my car. I’m not quite sure how I ended up there, and after serving in the Armed Forces, it was the last place I expected to be. With no housing prospects and at a loss of how to turn my situation around, I contacted WWTW. Within an hour, I had been called by one of their Care Coordinators who had immediately arranged emergency accommodation for the next four nights. During this time, they also worked with me to secure longer term housing. They ensured that my needs were met and that I had control over any decisions being made. This small step has completely turned my life around and has made such a big difference to my future”
