The service is run by veterans, helping to create more effective, tailored support for those affected by drug/alcohol misuse and/or PTSD.
In 2020/21, Outside the Wire provided one-to-one outreach support for 140 veterans affected by drug/alcohol misuse and/or PTSD, one-to-one and group support for 55 family members and dependants of veterans plus group support, activities, and volunteering opportunities for over 80 veterans and serving personnel.
"Accessing the Veterans’ Drop-in Café at the Matthew Project in Norwich has been a life saver. It has allowed me to meet with other veterans suffering from similar medical conditions, and to share experiences. I cannot speak highly enough of the facility as without it I would have struggled to cope with everyday life, health, and wellbeing." - Veterans' Drop-in Café attendee
The team is currently fundraising, having gathered five veterans to cycle an epic 325 miles in the Tour de Broads challenge on 22nd August, 2021. If you or your business are able to donate to their cause, please click here
