Norfolk Blood Bikes started in February 2011 and was known as SERV Norfolk. In October 2011, we made our 1st delivery. Since then, we have carried out over 12,000 tasks. Many lives have been saved. The fleet started with 2 Ex-Police bikes and a car and has increased to 12 new bikes & 4 cars. In July 2012, SERV Norfolk, became an independent Registered Charity (1148669).
No-one sees us at night, so our name was changed to Norfolk Blood Bikes in 2018, to reflect who we were and what we did. Since then, our profile has increased and in our 10th year, our service to the local communities has been recognised, with the achievement of the highest accolade possible, the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE.
We were affected by the Covid pandemic but continued to provide a service. No request for help was ever turned down. Ever!
Our admin costs are less than 5% of total income and our running costs are £4,000 per month. All our funding comes from donations. Please visit our website www.norfolkbloodbikes.org.uk where you can find links to contact details or how to make donations.
