The National Centre for Writing, based in Norwich UNESCO City of Literature, celebrates and explores the artistic and social power of creative writing and literary translation. Our learning & participation team work year-round to deliver engaging and transformative experiences for young people and marginalised community groups. Our recent work includes:
· Weekly summer holiday workshops for young people aged 9 – 12 or 13 – 17 years, providing time and space to explore their writing skills through fun, engaging prompts and activities.
· A six-week life writing workshop for ages 70+, to encourage and support participants to tell their own story. The project will culminate in the publication of an anthology of individual works.
· A 12-week culture, language and heritage programme delivered by and for the Norwich Bengali community, children, and families. Celebrating, exploring and raising awareness of Bengali culture.
As a UK registered charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to make our work possible. Please consider making a gift to ensure that the life-changing power of creative writing, books and reading continues to influence and inspire generations to come.
