Did you know that one in four people in the UK aged 55-64 are physically inactive, meaning they do less than 30 minutes of physical activity a week? This can worsen with age and could lead to an increased risk of conditions that can affect us in later life. The COVID pandemic has been an additional challenge for even the most active older person thanks to the lack of opportunities to be socially and physically active.
Our new Age Healthy campaign is aimed at helping those over 50 be healthy and active as we head out of the pandemic - both physically and mentally - and raise awareness of how this helps us to age better.
It’s all about how small changes can make a big difference, and our campaign website is a one-stop shop for anyone to find out how they can live a healthy later life. With helpful advice, nutrition tips, exercise programmes and information on the services available from Age UK Norwich and other organisations.
To help you get active, why not take part in our ActivAge 50 Challenge and do sponsored activity that involves the number’s 5 and 0, with support from our team of ActivAgers who have pledged to get active and share their journey.
