During this most challenging of years, East Norfolk Sixth Form College in Gorleston has been working with the local community in the fight against Covid 19.
The College’s IT team turned their heroic efforts from supporting staff and students to move into a world of virtual working and helping with their IT needs, to supporting local care homes in the fight against Coronavirus.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the IT team at the College worked tirelessly to ensure that students and staff had access to all the technical support and equipment they needed to be able to teach and learn remotely. Their initiative and professionalism was integral to keeping the College functioning.
One of the team, Mark Dudley researched how to make face shields using the college’s 3D printers, then began manufacturing them ready for distribution to local care homes.
EN Principal Dr Catherine Richards, said; ““EN has been an integral part of the local community for over 39 years and we are very aware of our social responsibility. We wanted to do something more to help in the fight against Coronavirus and making the face shields was our way of offering more practical support and thanking the amazing healthcare staff for all they doing to support the local community.”
